Many pencil color artists use a several different ways to blend their pencils. There is burnishing, solvents, and layering techniques that all work very well to blend your color pencils. I will show you how I blend by layering my color pencils. I find laying light layers on top of each other not only fills in the tooth of the paper but it also adds a rich color. See how I practice this technique.
Phrankie Tips:
Use a sharp pencil - save yourself some time with a sharp pencil to get into the tooth of the paper easier.
Lighten your pressure when you are layering over the other color so you can still see the other color underneath so it shows a blend to the eye.
Understand the follower
Remember: Keep your eyes open and your pencils sharp - cause you never know when inspiration will smack you in the face.
